Abstract

Lipotoxicity-induced inflammation is involved in diabetic nephropathy. In the renal tissue of diabetic nephropathy patients, lipid deposition was not only found in renal tubular epithelial cells, but also in macrophages of renal interstitium, and the damage degree of tubule interstitium at lipid deposition was aggravated. The crosstalk between renal tubular epithelial cells and macrophages may contribute to the pathophysiological process.however, the exact mechanism is still unclear. Exosomes are a kind of extracellular membranous vesicles with diameters of 40 ~ 100 nm and can be secreted by a variety of cells.
