Abstract
Caffeine is an active ingredient found in most of energy beverages, especially coffee. Its health beneficial effects on liver fibrosis are well-documented. Nonetheless, its renoprotective effects, particularly anti-fibrotic activity against renal fibrogenesis and epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) processes, remains unclear.
