Abstract

In recent years, with the in-depth study of central hypothalamic energy metabolism, the involvement of microglia cells in hypothalamic inflammation has become the focus of researchers. Recent studies have found that chronic hypothalamic inflammation changes the activity of central components of energy metabolism in vivo and regulates the development of T2DM through neuroendocrine mechanism. Chronic inflammation modulates the development of metabolic-related comorbidities like Type 2 diabetes. Pattern of fat distribution is a major determinant for metabolic homeostasis.
