Abstract

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Yet, algorithms meant to predict risk of CVD events, such as the atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk calculator, do not include measures of kidney function. Our study objectives were to determine whether the association between ASCVD risk and CVD mortality differs according to levels of KDIGO risk.
