Abstract

Increased arterial stiffness and medial vascular calcification are a major risk factors in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) due to mineral bone disorders (MBD). The impact of antihypertensive therapy on MBD-induced vascular calcification remains uncertain. The aim of the present study was to investigate whether the reduction in mean blood pressure reduces arterial stiffness and medial vascular calcification in CKD rats with MBD.
