Abstract

Nephrogenic ascites is associated with a grave prognosis with high mortality rate. The average survival ranges from 7 to 10.7 months after diagnosis. Nephrogenic ascites can be cured by a comprehensive modality of treatment involving strict salt restriction, protein supplementation and optimizing haemodialysis treatment by intensifying haemo-dialysis and increasing net ultrafiltration.
