Abstract
Frailty is a composite assessment usually used in elderly population for evaluating their overall general health. Studies show that frail individuals have a poor survival and increased morbidity. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is chronic inflammatory state and closely related to frailty due to various reasons like hormonal changes, anorexia, decreased muscle strength and depression. Malnutrition or PEW (Protein energy wasting) in CKD occurs due to various reasons that increase the body protein catabolism along with the rate of muscle degradation.
