Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at high risk for development or reactivation of tuberculosis (TB). To identify latent TB infection, Mantoux test (MT)/tuberculin skin test (TST) is widely used in Bangladesh because of its low cost. However, in CKD patients, the sensitivity of this test is questioned. In this study we compared the reactivity of MT in people with different CKD stages. We also compared the reactivity of MT with IGRA (interferon gamma release assay) in CKD patients.
