Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with impairment of arterial structure and function. Increased arterial stiffening as measured by pulse wave velocity (PWV) has been reported in children with CKD, but the data remains conflicting. Moreover, a comprehensive description of arterial stiffening risk profile and the longitudinal course of PWV in pediatric CKD is still lacking. Thus, we aimed to analyse the longitudinal course of PWV and associated risk factors in a large cohort of children with CKD.
