Abstract
The utilization of tunnelled central catheters (TCC) is steadily increasing, partly due to late referral to chronic kidney disease (CKD) clinics, combined with suboptimal arteriovenous fistula maturation and failure rates The incidence of catheter-related blood stream infection (CRBSI) after TCC contributes to substantial morbidity in patients on hemodialysis. The present study was designed to evaluate a spectrum of adverse outcomes after CRBSI and association with microorganism isolated from the blood cultures
