Abstract

Catheter related blood stream infections (CRBSI) are serious infections in related to hemodialysis (HD) catheters which lead to associated with significant morbidity and catheter loss or even mortality. There is a rise in CRBSI incidence with emergence of drug resistant nosocomial flora. In view of progressively increasing. There is scarce prospective data on incidence, clinical profile and course outcomes of CRBSI in HD catheters. We studied the clinical profile, microbiology, outcomes and factors associated with CRBSI in HD catheters catheters in a tertiary care centre.
