Abstract

Rouleaux formation is marked by the aggregation of red blood cells within the renal microvasculature and acts as a hallmark of ischemia. The use of intravital two-photon microscopy has previously shown the ability to identify such injury in the kidney. Thus, we wanted to extend this approach to quantify rouleaux development in real-time during ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI).
