Abstract

Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE) is one of the important causes of acute kidney injury (AKI) in tropical regions. Climatic and socioeconomic conditions predispose to high incidence of infectious acute gastroenteritis in tropical countries. A sudden surge of acute gastroenteritis presenting with AKI was seen following Chennai floods which occurred recently in November 2021.
