Abstract
Secondary thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) can present in the setting of drug intake, pregnancy, snake bite, malignant hypertension, pancreatitis and underlying autoimmune disease. Several of these patients have underlying genetic defect in complement pathway. The risk of progression to ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) in TMA is high and it is known to recur post-transplant.
