Abstract

Apoptosis is a decisive mechanism in cell processes such as homeostasis and development. Dysregulation of apoptosis may contribute to the process of prostate tumorigenesis by reducing the rate of cell death. Bag-1 and bax are important molecules involved in the regulation of apoptosis and prostate cancer is a prevalent disease among western countries. The aim of the present study is to examine the differential expression of the above apoptotic genes in a group of patients with hyperplasia and prostate cancer.
