Abstract

ObjectiveWe aim to review a case of portomesenteric venous thrombosis that occurred shortly after the administration of the second Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and discuss the literature surrounding the subject.MethodsManuscript was generated after reviewing patient’s chart and clinical images with his written informed consent. Literature review was conducted using Pubmed and Google Scholar.ResultsPortomesenteric venous thrombosis after Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has previously been reported in the literature although infrequently.ConclusionThere is not enough information, given the paucity of literature, to assert a causative relationship between Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and portomesenteric thrombosis.
