Abstract

Background and Aim: Portal Vein thrombosis is a potential cause of portal hypertension and complications like portal cavernoma and biliopathy. Portal Vein thrombosis results in technical difficulty during TIPS, in such case transplenic portal vein reconstruction is a viable option. In patients with extensive involvement of portal vein along with splenic vein or minimal splenic vein accessibility, Portal Vein reconstruction via collaterals is a noble but effective option.
