Abstract

Objective To improve the diagnosis consciousness of pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) of atypical manifestations and unknown embolus source.Methods One patient with portal vein and superior mesenteric vein thrombosis combined with PTE after splenectomy was analyzed,and the related literatures were reviewed.Results Patients with hepatocirrhosis would develop thrombosis easily after splenectomy,such as portal vein thrombosis,mesenteric vein thrombosis and PTE.Appropriate treatment should be considered according to the liver function and bleeding risk.Anticoagulant therapy should be monitored closely.Conclusions Hepatocirrhosis patients experienced splenectomy are easy to develop PTE except for infection.Due to the atypical manifestations,PTE diagnosis is difficult.When the embolus source of PTE is unknown,mesenteric vein thrombosis should be considered.
