Abstract

The analysis of impact of pressure depending on viscosity of squeeze film lubrication between circular rough porous stepped plates is done in this paper. Based on Christensen’s stochastic model the modified Reynolds equations are derived for the two types of roughness patterns. Equations are obtained for dimensionless pressure, capacity of the load and the timings of the squeeze film. It can be viewed that the pressure decreases (increases) for 1-dimensional radial (azimuthal) rough pattern & also same can be observed for load bearing capacity as well as squeezing film time when compared with smooth case. With increased values of porosity parameter the pressure, load bearing capacity and squeeze film time decreases and they also increases when the PDV parameter is increased.
