What is new from this article as messages for women and their families? • Porokeratoma can be successfully treated with topical 5% 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) cream. • Topical 5-FU is a safe and practical alternative to surgical intervention, especially in patients who are cosmetically sensitive. It is also useful in sites, such as the hands, where excision can compromise daily functioning and occupational activities.
