Abstract

We report a case of congenital erythropoietic porphyria in a 5-day-old black and white Holstein female born in Choquenaira Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agronomy of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés. The clinical picture was characterized by the presence of pinkish brown color of the teeth (pink tooth) caused by porphyrin deposition, hempglobinuria, growth retardation. At 4 months of age. In addition to photosensitization, the most evident macroscopic changes were the reddish brown coloration of the bones and the pinkish brown color of the teeth, caused by porphyrin deposition.
