Abstract
Biological dressings (xenografts and allografts) are an integral part of modern burn care. Although viable allograft is often regarded as the ‘gold standard’ in temporary skin coverage, possessing many of the qualities of the ‘Ideal’ burns dressing (Table 1) [1], the supply may be limited depending on local cultural factors and there are concerns about viral transmission [2].
