Abstract

The present article pursues to answer why Daniel Ortega’s regime in Nicaragua has been negligent in dealing with the pandemic COVID-19. The hypothesis is that such negligence has economic and political motives because the country’s economy is predominantly informal, and it has been affected since April 2018 when the sociopolitical crisis started.
