Abstract

This paper aims to explain the main features of the political regime of Primo de Rivera in the city of Valencia. From an analysis of municipal politics, populism and advertising public works construction are presented as the main supports for the consolidation of the regime in Valencia. The political praxis of the Marquis of Sotelo assumed for the city’s first contact with the National Catholicism. The figure of the mayor, also occupies much of the text to be a faithful exponent of political practices born after the September 1923 coup.
