Abstract
The possibility of lasing of the O2+ ion in a He-O2 mixture excited by a high-speed discharge is studied experimentally. It is found that the gain measured at the first negative band of O2+ has a positive value. The peak values of the gain coefficient at 563.2 nm and 559.7 nm are found to be about 0.015 cm-1.
