Abstract

Under intense light, there can appear more than one steady state solutions for the density of elementary excitations, resulting in many-valued absorption and scattering spectra and coexistent emission spectra. The observed anomalies in the two-photon resonance scattering via excitonic molecule in CuCl are tentatively explained in terms of this population instability.
