Population genetic data of 22 autosomal STR loci from the Dominican Republic

Abstract

Allele frequencies and forensic population statistics for 22 short tandem repeat (STR) loci were determined from 1000 unrelated Dominican individuals, selected from paternity test cases processed between 2018 and 2020. The samples were amplified whit a multiplex system PowerPlex® Fusion STR kit to 24 loci. No deviations from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium were observed for the 22 loci. When the link disequilibrium was analyzed, there was no evidence of association between loci. Finally, the dataset utilized in this manuscript passed the quality assurance tests done by STRidER (STRs for Identity ENFSI Reference Database).
