Abstract

Population density is one of the key factors of safety management in large underground public space. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the feasibility and principal mechanism of population density analysis in underground space with the aid of people’s digital video recording and statistic based on image classification and pattern using potential function method. The digital video information for routine surveillance at the egress in underground space are recorded term, drew from effectively by using a set of image processing flow basing on a special computer software and hardware system. Population density could be obtained based on accurate image classification, pattern matching and statistic analysis using potential function method and statistics model. The method is robust and feasible in lab test.
