Seed of improved varieties of chickpea PBG 7 and GSC 7 (Canola sarson) was supplied to farmers free of cost as a critical input the results revealed that in 2017-18 the total cost of cultivation was calculated to be `22180 in FLDs and `22846 per ha in check plots of chickpea. The net return from the demonstrated field and local check were found to be `52233 and `48082 per ha respectively. The B:C ratio for the demonstrated field and local was calculated to be 2.35 and 2.10 respectively and during 2018-19 was 1.99 and 1.47 respectively. In the case of canola sarson net returns from the demonstrated field and local check were found to be `63700 and `58815 per ha respectively. The B:C ratio for the demonstrated field and local check was calculated to be 3.40 and 2.89 respectively. During the year 2018-19 net returns were found to be `50540 per ha in FLD plots and `40450 per ha in check plots and B: C ratio obtained during the year 2018-19 was 2.6 and 1.79, respectively.
