Abstract
The subject of the article is the role of the pleasure of learning in the professional development that takes place in the process of so-called lifelong learning. The problem of improving skills is becoming a general phenomenon. The article looks at the issue in relation to the training of professional and sworn translators. Acquiring linguistic and cultural skills requires a long-term commitment on the part of the learner to the difficult process of learning the art of translation. The aim is to identify ways of strengthening motivation and forming attitudes which, through metacognitive strategies, enable learners to see the learning process as a source of satisfaction and a means of self-fulfilment.
