Abstract

Eleven patients with allergic contact dermatitis to nickel, as proven by history and positive patch test reactions, were used to evaluate the effectiveness of a liquid polyurethane plastic material for coating various offending metallic articles. The plastic film proved to be quite effective and worthwhile by protecting sensitized patients, preventing dermatitis, and allowing the wear of previously unworn items.
