Abstract
In the production of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), sizing agents are used to protect against fiber damage due to friction and to improve the affinity between the fiber and the matrix. The sizing agent improves the wettability between the fiber surface and the resin, reduces voids between the CFRP, and increases the physical properties. If the sizing agent is selected incorrectly, problems such as deterioration of physical properties and action as contaminants may occur. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a sizing agent having adhesiveness, workability, durability, water resistance and flexibility. Therefore, in this study, the water-dispersed polyurethane resin with the properties required above was synthesized and its properties were evaluated.
