Abstract

It is proposed to use three integral criteria - polarity, hydrophilicity and flexibility to assess the influence of synthetic polymer modifiers on the properties of starch composites. To achieve this goal, the permittivity, contact angles, IR spectra, and dynamic mechanical characteristics of styrene-acrylic copolymer Binder RA and aliphatic polyurethane Aqwapol 12 were studied. Under mechanochemical activation, blends and composite films based on corn starch and synthetic modifiers (80:20) were prepared. The methods of rotational viscosimetry, X-ray diffraction and DMA allowed to reveal the influence of the modifiers integral parameters on the rheological characteristics of the molding blends and the impact of joint mechanical activation on them, as well as on the crystal structure of the composites and their storage modulus.
