Abstract

This paper reports on the main types, uses and methods of application of polyurethane adhesives, concentrating in particular on one-component, moisture curing, solvent-free and the two-component hard types. For the latter, the development of strength and hardness during cure is discussed, and the effects of pot life, application time and pressing time are examined. Safety aspects of the use of polyurethane adhesives are also considered, with particular reference to practice in the Scandinavian countries.
