Polytriazolines

Abstract

AbstractSoluble polytriazolines of relatively high molecular weight (ηinh ∼ 0.6 dl/g) have been prepared by the solution polymerization of 2,6‐pyridinediyl dihydrazidine with three different aromatic dialdehydes. Thermogravimetric analysis of the polytriazolines showed weight losses in air and in nitrogen commencing at 280°C and 400°C, respectively. Several attempts to convert triazoline model compounds to the corresponding 1,2,4‐triazoles and quantitatively to prepare methyl‐substituted triazoline model compounds were unsuccessful.
