Abstract

Cylindrical fibers that are tens of micrometers long and ∼100 nm across are synthesized from a diblock copolymer (see figure). The determination of their persistence length and other size parameters in organic solvents by light-scattering has been heroic. The fibers form liquid crystalline phases in bromoform.
