Abstract
AbstractAn unknown lipid previously isolated in our laboratory from beef and human pituitaries was shown to have the same structure as dolichol from pig liver. Beef pituitaries contained ca. 130 mg/kg wet tissue, of which ca. 25% was esterified to fatty acids. Human pituitaries contained ca. 1.4 g/kg, mainly as the free alcohol.
