Abstract

1. 1. Although only 125 cases of gastric polyposis have been reported prior to 1943, this condition is receiving increasing attention in the literature because of improving roentgenologic technic and use of the gastroscope. 2. 2. It would appear that treatment up to the present time, which consisted of gastrotomy with excision of the polyps, subtotal gastrectomy or subtotal gastrectomy with fulgeration of the remaining polyps, has been inadequate in cases of extensive polyposis. 3. 3. A case of extensive polyposis with associated gastritis of the entire stomach treated by total gastrectomy is reported.
