Abstract

An 83-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with a 4 week history of abdominal pain, diarrhoea, and dysgeusia. During additional history taking and physical examination, she also complained of a recent worsening of cutaneous hyperpigmentation and alopecia. Laboratory data showed mild hypoalbuminaemia (3·6 g/dL [normal range 3·9–4·9]); all other parameters were within normal limits. Oesophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy were done and multiple small reddish polypoid lesions were seen mainly at the gastric antrum, ascending colon, and caecum (figure A, B).
