Polymers Containing Azo and Azomethine Groups: Synthesis, Properties, and Application

Abstract

Synthetic methods, structure, properties, and application areas of polymers combining azo and azomethine groups are considered. Classification of azo-azomethine-containing polymers relying on the ways of incorporating chromophore groups into the main and side chains of polymers and formation of network structures is proposed. Specific features of azo-azomethine-containing polymers related to the combination of these chromophore groups in their composition are discussed.
