Abstract

Diisoproxide derivatives, generated in situ, of novel enantiopure dichloro Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes supported by N1,N1-dimethyl-N2-[(1R)-myrtenylmethyl]ethane-1,2-diamine were assessed in ring opening polymerization of rac-LA, which displayed excellent activity and stereoselectivity. (L)Cu(OCHMe2)2 resulted in complete conversion of monomer in 80 s and yielded PLA that gave preference for heterotactic enchainment with Pr = 0.84 at 25 °C.
