Abstract
Charge transfer interaction between acceptor or donor monomers and polymers with donor or acceptor characteristics, respectively, results in the formation of homopolymers and graft copolymers. Comonomer donor-acceptor complexes capable of undergoing homopolymerization to equimolar, alternating copolymers and grafted alternating copolymers are generated in the presence of cellulose per se and metal halide-precomplexed cellulose and other polymers containing polar functionality.
