Abstract

AbstractVarious low molecular and polymeric Schiff's base chelates 9 – 13, 15 – 19, and 22 were synthesized from Z‐2,3‐diamino‐2‐butene dinitrile (3), the corresponding o‐hydroxyaldehydes, and Co(II), Ni(II), or Cu(II) acetate. Their IR, UV, and MS data are discussed. The cobalt containing Schiff's base chelates including the polymeric ones, were found to be effective catalysts for the isomerization of quadricyclane (24) into norbornadiene (23). First results are reported.
