Abstract

AbstractThe O‐methacryloyl derivatives of methyl, ethyl and phenyl salicylate, of salicylamide and of salicyl hydrazide were prepared by the reaction of the respective compounds with methacryloyl chloride and were polymerized by heating with azobisisobutyronitrile. Preliminary evaluation of the monomeric and the polymeric compounds for analgetic activity showed that part of the compounds had a longer duration of activity than aspirin.
