Abstract

A novel polymer-supported palladium-dipyridylmethylamine catalyst A was prepared from poly(styrene-alt-maleic anhydride) resin 1, di(pyrid-2-yl)methylamine (2) and Na2PdCl4. Its catalytic activity for several cross-coupling reactions such as Heck, Suzuki, and Sonogashira reactions in water was evaluated (Heck reaction: up to 104 TON; Suzuki coupling: up to 105 TON; Sonogashira reaction: up to 105 TON). Catalyst A can be recovered and reused several times without significant loss of the catalytic activity (89-99% yields).
