Abstract

This paper describes the modification of bilayer lipid membranes (BLMs) by the reaction of pyrrole polymerization. The properties of polypyrrole—lecithin bilayers have been described. These membranes show high electrical conductivity and increased mechanical and electrical stability. A possible application of polypyrrole BLMs in the development of biomolecular electronic devices is indicated.
