Abstract

A summary is given of the application of Mossbauer Spectroscopy to a better understanding of the chemical nature of ions of tin, cobalt and iron electrochemically injected into polymer coatings. These studies were complemented with nuclear magnetic resonance studies of Li+, Na+ and Cs+ ions electrochemically injected into polybutadiene, polyimide and epoxy coatings. The chemical nature of the interface between a thin layer of57Co electrodeposited on a cobalt substrate and polybutadiene and polyimide coatings was studied using emission spectroscopy.
