Abstract
A block copolymer of hydrophilic and crystallinic polyethylene oxide and hydrophobic and noncrystallinic polymethyl methacrylate was prepared by sequential initiation of phenoxy anion and charge transfer complex using p-aminophenol as parents compound. The structure of the copolymer was characterized by GPC, IR, 1H NMR, and DSC in detail. The propagating reaction of PMMA chain is dependent on the molecular weight and concentration of the first block PEO and the polarity of solvents, and the reasons for these phenomena are discussed.
