Abstract

Silylated monomers useful for polycondensations are normally compounds with one or two trimethylsilyl groups attached to heteroatoms and replacing protons. The monomers most widely used for polycondensations in the form of trimethylsilyl derivatives are: aliphatic and aromatic diamines, aminophenols, aliphatic or aromatic amino acids, diphenols, bisthiophenols or hydroxythiophenols, aromatic hydroxy acids, aliphatic and aromatic dicarboxylic acids.
