Abstract
AbstractA total synthesis of (2S,4R)‐5,5‐dichloroleucine is reported in 13 steps from (S)‐methyl 2‐(hydroxymethyl)propanoate. A density functional J‐based analysis of this compound and a comparison with that of its (2S,4S) epimer is also performed in order to complete our study of J‐configurational assignments in 1,3‐nitrogen‐containing acyclic moieties.
